Congratulations to Sam Thomas-Smith, Charlotte Vallis, Georgia Jennings, Victoria Woodhead, Mary Hebron, Olivia Doughty, Jonathan Boyd and Charlie Gascoyne for successfully completing their ITC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work this week. The students took part in a 6 hour qualification over 2 days and covered the essential skills of first aid, including dealing with an unconscious casualty, shock, CPR, bleeding and much more. The students have completed this qualification as part of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award training – as in 2016 they will be completing a challenging 4 day canoe expedition, which requires the students to be extremely self-sufficient. I was really impressed with the quality of the candidates and their performance throughout the course and am sure that the skills they have learned will be a great asset to the school and the wider community.
